This kit includes activities that will spark children's curiosity about pirates with four new activities to learn and play together. You can make a pirate, parrot and porthole seascape, sparking your little one's creativity and imagination. Our sensory activity this month is all about a treasure hunt, so your little one can learn while they play too.

All our activities are specially designed to support the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, especially fine motor skills, creating with materials and being imaginative and expressive.

We take the overwhelm away so you don’t have to think of ideas to keep your Mini Makers aged 3+ busy. Everything comes fully prepared and straight to your door so you can get making straight away.

Each kit includes everything you need, for 1 or 2 children, to make -

* Cheeky Parrot - Every pirate needs a feathered friend! It might not talk to you but it’ll look great while you are hunting for buried treasure in our sensory tray.
This activity provides your little one with great opportunities to develop their eye and hand coordination using a paintbrush. Using scissors supports their fine motor skills, which are so necessary when learning to write.

* Pirate Porthole - Let’s imagine we are sailing into the unknown and looking at the sea through the porthole, oh no - Pirates on the horizon! With this activity you make porthole scene that moves. Learning to use scissors requires a lot of practice so this activity let's them practice.

* Sand Pirate - A pirate themed box wouldn’t be right without a pirate! In this activity your little one gets to decorate a pirate with coloured sand. This activity practices your little ones concentration and precision. They might need your help with lifting up the adhesive tape though. By using their thumb and first finger to pick up sand and then sprinkle it onto the pirate they exercise their pincer grasp which lays the foundation for a good pencil grip.

* Treasure Island Sensory Tray - Our sensory tray is a treasure island your child can explore by searching for golden coins and jewels. We designed this sensory tray with two base textures of rice and sand to stimulate their sense of touch. We also included numbered coins (pieces of eight as our cheeky parrot would say) to support their number learning.
